Abstract

Background: The development of a conceptual agronursing education model based on local wisdom is expected to be an innovative solution by integrating health education, utilization of medicinal plants, and traditional practices to increase community knowledge, awareness, and participation in leprosy prevention and control in the era of climate change. Efforts to prevent and control leprosy require a comprehensive and sustainable approach.

Perspective: Health education is an important strategy in increasing community knowledge, awareness, and participation in leprosy prevention and treatment. However, existing education models are often ineffective because they do not consider the socio-cultural context of the community. Local wisdom-based agronursing education is a promising approach in leprosy prevention and control efforts in the era of climate change.

Conclusion: This model can increase community knowledge, awareness, and participation, and utilize the potential of medicinal plants and local wisdom optimally. However, it is important to ensure that this education model is adapted to the context of climate change and implemented sustainably.
