For Authors

The Journal of Rural and Tropical Nursing (JRTN) is fully open access. There are no article processing charges, submission fees, or publication fees of any kind. Authors pay nothing to submit, have their manuscript reviewed, or have an accepted article published and made freely available online.

This policy applies to all authors regardless of institutional affiliation, country of origin, or funding status. JRTN is funded by the publisher as part of its commitment to equitable knowledge access.

Author Responsibilities

While publication is free of charge, authors remain responsible for certain costs associated with manuscript preparation.

The journal does not cover costs that authors may incur independently during research or manuscript preparation. These include, but are not limited to:

Language editing or professional translation services engaged by the authors before or during submission.

Figure preparation, illustration, or image reproduction costs incurred by the authors.

Permissions fees for reproducing previously published tables, figures, or other third-party material.

Data management, repository deposit, or supplementary hosting services used independently by the research team.

No payment will ever be requested before editorial decisions

JRTN will never request payment at the time of submission, during peer review, or as a condition of receiving a favorable editorial decision. Any communication requesting payment under these circumstances should be reported to the editorial office immediately.

All published articles are freely accessible online under an open-access license.

No embargo period.

Accepted articles are published and made freely available online without delay. There is no embargo period and no access restriction of any kind for readers, institutions, or the general public.

Authors retain copyright.

Authors retain copyright in their published work and grant JRTN the right to publish and distribute the article under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License. Third parties may share and adapt the work for non-commercial purposes with appropriate attribution.
