Access Rights

JRTN is a fully open-access journal. Every article published in JRTN is immediately and permanently available online, free of charge, to any reader anywhere in the world. No subscription, registration, or institutional access is required.

Diamond Open Access

JRTN operates on a diamond open-access model: readers pay nothing to access content, and authors pay nothing to publish. The journal is funded by the publisher as part of its commitment to equitable, barrier-free access to nursing and health research.

Immediate access

Articles are available online at the moment of publication. There is no embargo period.

Permanent access

Published articles are archived in multiple independent systems to ensure perpetual availability.

No fees

No article processing charges, submission fees, or page charges are levied on authors at any stage.

Under this license, anyone is free to share (copy and redistribute) and adapt (remix, transform, or build upon) any article published in JRTN, provided that:

Self-Archiving and Preprint Policy

Authors may post their work in repositories and preprint servers.

Before submission
Authors may post a preprint of their manuscript in a recognised preprint server (e.g., medRxiv, Research Square) before or during the review process. Authors should disclose this in the cover letter at time of submission.
After acceptance
Authors may self-archive the accepted manuscript (post-peer-review, pre-typeset version) in an institutional or subject repository immediately after acceptance, with a link to the published version.
After publication
Authors may post the final published PDF in personal or institutional repositories with acknowledgement of the original publication source and a link to the journal's article page.

Reader Rights

What open access means for readers, educators, and institutions.

Anyone may

  • Read, download, and print any article at no cost
  • Share articles and links to articles freely
  • Cite articles in other publications with appropriate attribution
  • Include articles in syllabi, course materials, and reading lists
  • Translate and adapt content for non-commercial purposes with attribution

Commercial use requires permission

  • Commercial reproduction of articles in printed collections
  • Systematic redistribution for commercial purposes
  • Use of JRTN content in commercial training data or AI systems
