The Journal of Rural and Tropical Nursing (JRTN) is an international, double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by PT Peka Merawat Negeri. The journal provides a scholarly forum for nursing and health research addressing the distinctive needs of rural, tropical, remote, underserved, and resource-limited communities.
Purpose and Editorial Direction
Developing nursing knowledge that responds to place, population, and available resources.
Health conditions in rural and tropical settings are shaped by interactions among geography, climate, occupation, infrastructure, culture, socioeconomic conditions, infectious agents, and access to healthcare. These conditions require nursing knowledge and care models that are clinically sound, culturally appropriate, and feasible within the communities in which they are applied.

JRTN gives particular attention to Agronursing: a nursing perspective concerned with the health of agricultural workers, farming families, and rural communities. This includes occupational risks, environmental exposures, healthcare access, prevention, health promotion, and community-based interventions within agricultural ecosystems.

JRTN is owned and published by PT Peka Merawat Negeri, Indonesia. The journal was established in 2026 to provide a dedicated international publication forum for nursing and healthcare scholarship relevant to rural and tropical populations.
The inaugural issue, Volume 1 Number 1, is scheduled for August 2026. Subsequent issues are published three times annually in April, August, and December.
